{"id":1621,"date":"2025-11-26T23:20:37","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T23:20:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dept.english.wisc.edu\/awanner\/?p=1621"},"modified":"2025-11-26T23:20:37","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T23:20:37","slug":"linguistics-of-sustainability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dept.english.wisc.edu\/awanner\/linguistics-of-sustainability\/","title":{"rendered":"Linguistics of Sustainability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I received funding from the <a href=\"https:\/\/international.wisc.edu\/hessen-incentive-grants-2025-call-for-proposals\/\">Hessen Incentive G<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/international.wisc.edu\/hessen-incentive-grants-2025-call-for-proposals\/\">rant<\/a> to develop a COIL (collaborative online international learning) course on the Linguistics of Sustainability with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-kassel.de\/fb02\/en\/institutes\/english-and-american-studies\/fields-of-study\/english-linguistics\/prof-dr-holden-haertl.html\">Professor Holden H\u00e4rtl<\/a> at the University of Kassel. Hessen is the German partner state of Wisconsin and also happens to be the state where I grew up in Germany. The proposed course will enhance the English Department&#8217;s offerings in Environmental Humanities and count towards the new Bachelor in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-kassel.de\/uni\/en\/study\/sustainability-communication-bachelor.html\">Sustainability Communication<\/a> at the University of Kassel.
