Gabriela C. Yepes-Rossel

Gabriela is a theater and film writer, director, and researcher. At UW, her work focuses on the emergence of Indigenous women theater artists and dance performers in the Southern Peruvian Andes who are re-signifying their traditions to challenge normalized practices of intersectional inequity and violence. Her scholarly and artistic contributions have been recognized with the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Innovation Fellowship, the Lyman S.V. & Ellen Judson Student Award in the Creative Arts, and the American Association of University Women International Fellowship, among other honors. She holds a BA in Communications from the University of Lima, Peru, and an MFA in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of Texas at Austin.
