Feminist Ethics of Care and Politics

Credentials: GENDER & WOMEN'S STUDIES 449

Website: Professor Chris Garlough

Phone: Tuesdays & Thursdays 11 AM PM - 12:15 PM

This seminar provides opportunities to engage with and deepen understandings of feminist ethics of care scholarship and gender-related issues through intensive reading, writing and discussion. Throughout the semester, we will engage with real world examples, theories, conceptual developments, and debates, which chart the development of ethics of care research. In the process, we will critically interrogate the different intellectual traditions that have shaped issues within feminist politics and practices. We will examine these traditions from an explicitly interdisciplinary perspective, highlighting contributions made by feminist scholars from different disciplinary backgrounds.
