It’s the time of the semester when students present their projects. Most of my classes have an engagement component — students will create a podcast of video geared towards the general public. We call this the Grammar Badgers project. Not everyone loves group projects, so it’s essential to provide support that takes the group from their initial idea to an end product everyone can be proud of. In-class check-ins and discussions about the division of labor are essential. At the end of the semester, I am often blown away by what students accomplished in a short amount of time.
Here’s a video from this semester’s class on “Bad Grammar and Metalinguistic Awareness.” After watching the video, if you want to support the students’ work, you can scan the QR code (repeated below the video) and take action.
