Some of the professional activities I’ve been involved in:
- Chaired the Search Committee for the (current) Editorship of the TESOL Quarterly
- Former Member-at-Large, Nomination Committee Chair, and Nomination Committee member of AAAL (The American Association for Applied Linguistics)
- Coordinated publisher exhibits at the AAAL conference
- Former Research Interest Group Chair, TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages)
- Directed the review process for the TESOL/Newbury House Distinguished Research Award
- Served on Review Panel for proposals to the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI) and the Office of Bilingual Education and Minority Language Affairs (OBEMLA), U.S. Department of Education
- Continue to serve as Strand Reader (and Strand Coordinator) for abstracts submitted to AAAL annual conference
- Review manuscripts submitted to Applied Linguistics, TESOL Quarterly, Language Learning, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, Text, World Englishes
